‘Living In The Past’ – Lower Marsh, SE1 (1545)

Overhearing a schoolchild talking to his mother about ‘the saxons and the vikings’ on the way home. Across the street two market stall workers move the last pitch whilst chatting about the Second World War. Never far from what has gone before, however long ago.

‘Death At The Door’ – Lower Marsh/Westminster Bridge Road

A trio of builders stand in the main entrance of a supermarket still under construction. All facing the road and dressed in hi-vis vests, the uniformity is extended to the ghostly white pallor of dust on their faces. Smoking cigarettes as they chat, here are the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future remodelled to grace an old company in the process of entering a new venture into the uncertain world of commerce.
