‘Wearing Thin’ – Kennington Road, SE1

A line of policemen and women (15-16 in number) waiting to cross at the lights. Embedded amongst them stands an elderly lady wearing a blue raincoat. This fleeting picture, the collective arm of the law on the return leg of a recce/training exercise, resembling something akin to a punk/new wave album cover from the late ’70s. A postcard from a London long gone.
