A (relatively) new post office. The combination of freshly painted white walls, and areas as yet uncluttered by stock, with the more traditional material from this ‘timeless fixture of the High Street’. A local artist’s work advertised for sale (‘Yesterdays’) and the ubiquitous collection of greetings cards, with ageist cliches (’70 = Grumpy Old Man’ etc…). A woman buys bleach, balloons and a paper, whilst the (all male) queue stands quietly holding various items for delivery. The swan song of the stamp?
