‘A Thirst For Knowledge’ – London Road, Mitcham 

Passing three closed pubs within spitting distance (sic) of each other. Grand structures now in various stages of decay, the fabric now a contested space of history, both recent and old. Windows plastered with news pages from a local paper and bill posters for female wrestling and a ‘Halloween Circus’. In contrast to this, metal plaques pronounce detailed information on the buildings function and former relevance to the community. A temporary local history museum.
