‘A Conduit (Passing Through)’ – Smithfield Market, EC1

Walking from east to west along the road (through cleaned and closed stalls) flanked by a photographic history. A sort of Bayeaux Tapestry in montage, depicting the official story of the market, with personal tributes amongst the city’s archive. A series of photos from 1986 and the 21st century. Staff in familiar and perhaps more dated scenarios. A simple token of affection for a former longstanding porter. His photograph, a condolence and his team’s scarf suspended and woven across the green ironwork. A timeless trait in depicting memorial.
