‘Off The Beaten Track’ – Carlton Gardens, SW1 (1400)

A gang of contractors resting on the grass verge of a mini roundabout during their lunchbreak. Hard hats scattered around the circular island, like the helmets of a recuperating regiment in battle. The ghosts of Kitchener (house) and De Gaulle (statue) look on at their preserved, but refurbished, central London citadel.
