‘The Metropolitan Methuselah’ – Upper Richmond Road, SW15 (1625)

Passing a dishevelled old man, dressed in all black with a long mane of grey hair and beard, slumped on a bus stop bench. His head nodding slightly, left arm upon his breast, as though acknowledging that the modern world has finally overtaken him. The passage of time. To have lived for a good number of years and yet reach a point where experience doesn’t necessarily account for comprehension.
