‘David & Goliath’ – Putney Bridge (1815)

A cyclist stopping on the kerb to dramatically pull off his helmet and stamp upon an insect on the pavement. The ‘guilty party/victim’ seemingly a fly (as opposed to a wasp). The man continues to rub his scalp in somewhat dramatic fashion, before a bus sounds its horn and he retires off the road. A kind of throwback to silent film in terms of animated gestures and reactions.
