‘Please Be Stood’ – Tooting Broadway station (1715)

Waiting in the foyer of the tube station. A medley of classical music wafts through the rush hour throng. Amongst the various tunes, that of Thomas Arne’s national rallying cry filtering through the ether. Everyone is, of course by virtue, standing. Even Edward VII, forever casting a regal gaze over the crossroads traffic.
