‘Waterborne’ – Lambeth North

A persistent downpour on a freezing, overcast day. The area transformed into a new temporary landscape. An urban water meadow (a sodden park), a network of small ponds (pavements) and the evolution of tributaries (roads), destined not for the ‘strong brown god’ of the main confluence. Merely the return to earth, as these newly formed channels trade a tarmac bed for the metal grating as portal to the subterranean.
