Heading past a parallel performance of window cleaning. Two contractors working on either side of the street apply their deft touch to the glass canvas with variants on the brush. Like anglers with lines entangled high up in trees, one holds a metaphorical (grand) ‘roach pole’ to the other’s inferior ‘junior rod’. Further east, two window cleaners emerge from their van, tools in hand, and march over to a contract front door, as if engaging in a heist. Minutes later, the pair return to their transport in the wake of another ‘clean sweep’.
