‘The Politics of Packing’ – Neathouse Place, Victoria

An arc of suitcases arranged in the corner of a building, providing some form of refuge/respite for its homeless occupant(s). A kind of street stockade against (some of) the elements and those who might take exception to the displaced. A temporary camp just metres from the grand railway terminus, scene of countless arrivals and departures. From the modest brown paper carrier, to monogrammed bespoke ‘flight case’ bound for the southern climes of Europe.
