‘Vanishing Point’ – King’s Road, SW6 (2050)

A couple awaiting a removal vehicle as they stand outside their old flat with all worldly goods lying on the pavement. A labelled fridge, bedding and household goods bagged up in black refuse sacks. The front door open to reveal further items on the stairs. A low budget move under cover of darkness. The silent duo waiting expectantly in the cold evening. One of many upheavals undertaken across the city. A hired van, a taxi or a borrowed car in the autumnal gloom. A far cry from the military planning and precision of a large lorry and a well trained team, with sheets and wrapping, to effortlessly relocate from one affluent postcode to another.
